Chanel Resort 2009

After taking to the skies for the flight-themed Resort collection he presented in Los Angeles a year ago, Karl Lagerfeld made a splashy landing with the new Chanel Cruise show. His models literally walked on water on a curvilinear runway built over the famously sinuous pool at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach, Miami. .... The 74-look collection mixed rock 'n' roll with seventies swing and high glamour, all rendered with Lagerfeld's forward-minded attitude.

MET Costume Gala

Last night the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute saluted power of "superheroes" in fashion. The MET Costume Gala is the event of the year and also defines your status in the celebrity food chain, hosted by George Clooney and Julia Roberts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (sponsored by Vogue Magazine).

Only in New York City is it said that you're nobody until a designer loves you.
Top designers chose their favorites as their guests to the MET Costume Gala.

La Fille Chic Fait Bon

Lauren Conrad, designer and reality show celebutante, oh and fashion intern for Teen Vogue, has had a lot to do in the last months of hiatus.  When LC left us for Paris to attend The Crillon Ball it was only a matter of time before she picked up a few Parisian influences.

For one her hair is a touch of "la boheme" a far cry from the everyday blow out in the last three seasons.  And then there's her new Chanel bag, a trade-off from the quilted tote that ex-beau Jason had given her. LC's coquette taste has moved over to the vintage side.  Her new baby, the Chanel vintage quilted bag is more iconic than the tote and more exclusive. Well done LC!

And talk about ch-cha-changes, the Lauren Conrad Collection debuted at L.A. Fashion Week. Not bad for an unexpected decision to show, being a first timer and just having a lot on your professional plate at such a young age. My favorite part that definitely shows what she took from Paris was the closing song.

If you want to try out the vintage classic Chanel bag click here.

The Hills airs its third season next Monday, March 24th on MTV at 10pm ET/PT.
